There are many ways the City of Lucan services the community. The following are the major departments of the City, including a description of their main functions.

Administration - Responsible for overall city operations including finances.

Fire - Voluntarily on call for fires, public safety, and disasters. 

First Responders - Serve as the medical emergency contacts. 

Public Works - Oversees and coordinates all activities associated with the operation and maintenance of the City's infrastructure and facilities. The Department is responsible for maintaining the City's streets, storm sewers, water mains, and sanitary sewer systems and facilities. The Department is also responsible for the City's open spaces, buildings, parks, compost site, vehicles and equipment.
